Male Enhancement Pills Contain Hidden Drug Ingredients

The FDA is notifying the public to not purchase or use three male sexual enhancement products that contain hidden drug ingredients.

"Vicerex" and "Bullet Proof" capsules were found to contain tadalafil, the active ingredient in prescription drug Cialis (Eli Lilly). "Lightning ROD" capsules were found to contain hydroxythiohomosildenafil, a similar ingredient found in Viagra (sildenafil; Pfizer). Cialis and Viagra are prescription drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The undeclared ingredients are PDE5 inhibitors that may interact with nitrates found in prescription drugs (eg, nitroglycerin), and further lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.

Consumers are to stop using these products immediately and throw them away. Those that have experienced any negative side effects should consult a health care professional as soon as possible.
